When the news says that there is a price rise, it is usually bad news for consumers, especially if they enjoy that service or product so much, but in Disney+'s case, it comes right after reaching a massive milestone. This March marked a massive one for the company, especially as they achieved and surpassed 100 million subscribers for the first time.
Disney+ Raises Monthly Subscription to $7.99
In two days, Disney+ would raise its monthly subscription fee to almost eight dollars a month, bordering on $7.99 for all of its subscribers across the world, and marks the change to be on Friday, March 26. The success of its Marvel miniseries shows like "WandaVision" and "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" has brought massive fame and following to the service.
According to Mac Rumors, Disney+ has recently announced this from its platform and has let its customers know the changes, which is only a dollar from the previous price. Before this, Disney+ asks customers to subscribe to the platform for $6.99 only, which is not much of a change or price hike for the subscription service of the company.
This is the second time that Disney+ has raised its prices, particularly as its introductory prices began at $6.99 for its customers, which is now ending its yearly subscription plan promo of having it for $69.99 from last March. Disney+ was also observed to raise prices whenever its new shows reach a massive high, like in "The Mandalorian Season 2," and now "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's" pilot episode.
Disney+ Subscription: How to Save Money?
Since the $6.99 price is still up and available on the platform, and users expect that they would use the service for the entire year (or other members of their family would), they should avail of the discounted annual prices. Before March 26, the annual prices would still be priced at $69.99, which means that the one-time fee could guarantee that same price for the service.
Instead of having it at $7.99 a month and an annual fee of $79.99, users can save as much as $10 if they avail of the annual package for Disney+ before its price change this coming Friday. Users may head directly to the Disney+ application or the Disney+ website for this deal.
Disney+ Success Since its Release
This is massive for Disney+ and The Walt Disney Company as its subscription service for its media streaming tool is not that big of a platform compared to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Hulu, which they also own. Disney+ is also fairly new to the streaming game and has only been a year since its release and launch, which was also marked last March.
The rapid growth of Disney+ is commendable, especially as it only aired several original shows on its platforms, and most that can be seen are old Disney, Pixar, and other children's movies and series. Disney+ is a niche streaming tool that mainly focuses on Disney's production and its acquired companies like Marvel, Star Wars, and the like.
