"Pokémon Go" April Community Day will feature Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon!
The first from the Gen V Unova region to be featured on Community Day, Snivy was also featured on "Pokémon Go's" Unova Celebration in January 2021 - where its rare shiny variant made its "Pokémon Go" debut.
This month's Community Day event will happen on Sunday, April 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, as announced by "Pokémon Go's" Official Blog.
Snivy Community Day Features and Bonuses
Players may expect Snivy to appear more frequently in the wild during "Pokémon Go's" April Community Day, wherein the lucky ones may get the chance to encounter a Shiny Snivy.
Give the starter grass snake Pokémon 25 candy to evolve into Servine - and players may get a Serperior if they managed to evolve a Snivy to a Servine during the event or up to two hours after.
Any Serperior evolved during the event will get the attack Frenzy Plant, Community Day exclusive move.
Being a grass-type Pokémon, it is weak against Fire, Poison, Ice, Flying, and Bug types.
Players may use Darmanitan's Bug Bite, Ice Fang or Fire Fang combined with Avalanche or Overheat to bring a Snivy to its knees before capturing it.
Alternately, Volcarona's Fire Spin or Chandelure's Incinerate may be used as an alternative.
"Pokémon Go's" blog also announced the special one-time-purchase Community Day Box, which features 50 Ultra Balls, four Mossy Lure Modules, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.
The special one-time-purchase Community Day Box will cost the player 1,280 PokéCoins.
Snivy will also be featured in a "Snapshot Surprise," and on "Snivy in the Sunshine;" the Snivy Community Day exclusive Special Research story for $1.
"Pokémon Go's" April Community Day will feature a triple Catch Stardust bonus for the entire event.
Incense will also be activated during the event that will last for three hours, giving players better chances of getting their hands on a Snivy!
Shiny Snivy's release was a bit confusing for some, as laid out by Bleeding Cool in their article on January 5.
The starter Pokémon's release at the Unova Celebration event makes the Snivy the first ever to receive its Shiny release outside of Community Day.
Pokémon Go Announces First-Ever Weather Week!
"Pokémon Go's" Official Blog also announced the first-ever Weather Week event, where all rain or wind-loving Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild.
The event will also feature Therian Forme Thundurus, the Bolt Strike Pokémon, and one of the Legendary Trio of the Forces of Nature.
GamePress describes as a superior Electric-type attacker that boasts considerably more ATK than its Incarnate variant.
His considerable ATK is somewhat leveled out by poor DEF and STA stats, causing it to faint rather quickly compared to other Pokémons.
The Weather Week event will happen on Wednesday, March 24, from 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 29, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Castform will appear more often during the event, and lucky players may get their chance to catch a Shiny Rainy Form Castform.
Additionally, Pokémon that usually appears on rainy and windy days, such as Wingull and Ducklett, will appear more often during the event.
Players who will join in raids during the event will have a chance to get the following:
- Mega Raids: Mega Houndoom, Mega Abomasnow, and Mega Manectric
- Five-star raids: Therian Forme Thundurus
- Three-star raids: Swellow, Pelipper, and more
- One-star raids: Slowpoke, Tynamo, and more
The Elusive Rayquaza Returns for 'Pokémon Go's' Weather Week Event
The event also marks the surprise return of Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokémon and one of the best Dragon-type Pokémon.
Rayquaza will appear in the Legendary Raid together with Therian Forme Thundurus.
Any Rayquaza encountered and caught during the event will have the attack Hurricane.
