YouTube has been one of the most popular video-sharing platforms that allow users to embed media uploaded on its servers to be seen in other locations such as social media platforms. Some allow YouTube links to be seen with its thumbnail then redirecting to another page, but Twitter is on the verge of letting YT videos play on its applications.
Without the need to jump from one app to another, Twitter is trying to develop a feature that would soon come for users and complement their usage of social media to watch and play YouTube videos on the platform. Only a few applications allow this feature, and it is surely a limited one for smartphones, as it has been canceled or removed from others.
Twitter's Support for different platforms and applications in the world of technology is one of the most extensive there is, surpassing that of rival social media websites and applications available to people. Facebook and Instagram allow embedding and sharing of links, but a direct play on its platform of the YouTube video is not allowed.

Twitter Reveals Support for YouTube Videos to Play
According to a recent tweet by Twitter's Support Team (@TwitterSupport) on Friday, March 18, the company is in the works for a new feature that would be convenient for all users of the social media application, for iOS and Android. The new YouTube feature to play directly via Twitter is a revolutionary upgrade for the company, especially as it is directed to users.
For some, it is a hassle from switching from one app to another, especially if their smartphones are old and released with little RAM, it could be a hassle and make its process run slower than expected. Having said this, staying on one application and getting both features could save on the phone's memory, along with battery consumption.
Currently, the feature from Twitter that they have announced earlier is still under development and trial from the company, but releasing it soon could improve the usage of people to enjoy YouTube videos. This could also be a good thing for influencers, having to reduce the need of uploading separately from YouTube and Twitter's platform.
Twitter and YouTube in One App
Despite both social platforms being rivals and competitors in the world of the internet and technology, Twitter has found a way to incorporate both applications and make its platform more enjoyable for its users. The feature would have limited functions and settings, and it would only include volume controls, pause and play, and limited resolutions.
Alongside the YouTube playback release, Twitter is also near to release its "Clubhouse"-like feature called "Spaces" which is an audio-only platform in the realm of the short world social media application. Moreover, it debuted first on the Android platform before making its way to iOS, and now, people would have a wider connection using their Twitter accounts.
