The PlayStation 5 is one of the most historical gaming consoles on the planet, and apparently, the fastest-selling console in U.S. history as its restocks always run out despite drops spread across various retailers. The latest console of Sony has been one of the most sought after and coveted pieces of tech of the generation, with its scarcity powering its popularity.
It may be a simple law of demand that occurs here, but the Japanese multimedia conglomerate sure knows how to keep people at the edge of their seats and wanting for more with the PlayStation 5. Restocks and stock drops are hard to come by, and if it were not for the COVID-19 pandemic, people would be seen queuing and camping out of retail stores for the PS5.
Currently, most of the PlayStation 5's stocks are sold out, even with its Digital Version, as the 4K gaming console that features SSD and AMD CPU goes out like a bubble whenever it appears. Sony has been met with a chip problem that makes the production of the PS5 slow, hence the massive demand and scarce units sent out to the public.

PlayStation 5: Fastest Selling Console in U.S. History
According to NPD Group's Mat Piscatella (@MatPiscatella), the PlayStation 5 has made history as the country's fastest-selling console in the U.S. dollar history, topping previous sales of other brands and makes. However, for February, the company is currently behind the Nintendo Switch sales, with the PS5 only bordering on second.
However, this could mean that the PlayStation 5's stocks are not enough to outsell the Switch, because the supply of the units from Sony's factories is still insufficient to meet the public's demands. People are already searching for various ways to get their hands on the console, and that includes sites like eBay that have overpriced ones and scalpers.
The PlayStation 5 has contributed to a massive scale in the video game industry, having a 35 percent increase compared to last year, having a total of $4.6 billion in both hardware and game sale last February. As one of the most coveted pieces of tech of the era, the PlayStation 5 quickly sells out, and it is way beyond performance expectations.
PS5 Restock, Where to Buy
Currently, the PlayStation 5 consoles are out-of-stock in various online retailers and even the ones from Sony Direct. Last week saw a restock on GameStop and Target, which initially sold out and closed hours after the drop occurred. Despite being more than half-a-year since its release, the PS5 still has not met all of the needs and demands of gamers that await its availability.
