A new TikTok video went viral on the internet again after it confused a lot of people. This latest video contains a 17,500 Hz sound.

In the first part of the viral footage, the women said that the sound can only be heard by people who are under the age of 25 years old are the ones who can hear it. According to Yahoo Tech's latest report, the popular video was first posted by TikTok user @metzie72.

"Did you hear it or not?" asked the user via his official Twitter account.

The viral TikTok footage was able to garner more than 19,000 comments and 150,000 likes because of its popularity. If you go to the comment section, you will see that some people are 25 years old younger who can hear the sound, which contradicts the video's claim.

"I'm under 25 and can't hear it," said a viewer.

"I'm 24 and a musician please tell me this is a joke and there's actually no sound," added another one.

Why some people can't hear this viral TikTok video

NCBI explained that normally, a human being could hear sounds in the frequency range from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This means that you can hear loud and quiet noises when you are young. However, an individual loses his hearing sensitivity as they get older.

It was also explained that an average adult can hear around 15 Hz up to 17,000 Hz, which explains the statement of the woman on the viral TikTok video. This also explains why most of the people who heard the high-pitched sound are below 25 years old. Although this is the case, this doesn't mean that individuals above 25 years old can't hear the sound. It will still depend on your hearing sensitivity.
