For those that have been gaming about 20 years ago, it's most likely that the gamer has delved into "Diablo II". The said game was massively popular and some people are currently still playing which makes the good news even better as a "Diablo II" remaster on the way! Blizzard is now working on a "Diablo II" remastered version of the popular game and it will also be very faithful to the original game.

'Diablo II' remastered

As a demonstration of how dedicated it is to keeping the original game alive, Blizzard producer Matthew Cederquist recently confirmed in an article by The Verge that save files coming from the original "Diablo II" game will still run on the remaster which means players can pick up where they left off around two decades ago.

Just like the other "Diablo" titles, a story by ExtremeTech noted that the second incarnation would take place in Sanctuary, the mystical realm. During the opening of "Diablo II", the hero coming from the original game has suddenly been corrupted by the whole malevolence of the eponymous prime evil also known as Diablo. Players also have to once again try to defeat the prime evils as well as confine them to the dark underworld.

'Diablo 2' remastered 2021

The powerful adventure role-playing style of "Diablo II" was reportedly groundbreaking during that time, which is also the reason as to why a lot of people wasted uncountable hours of their lives all hunting for epic loot. While the newer "Diablo III" still proved to be a massive success, it was never really able to reach the overlying cult status of Diablo II.

It is important to clarify that the upcoming game is a remaster and not a remake due to the content being largely the same. The upcoming "Diablo II: Resurrected" would feature new graphics as well as networking components. However, the story and the character balance would still remain unchanged. There are also a few quality of life improvements that would include a shared stash for users' characters, the automatic gold piockups, and also a number of small tweaks as well.

'Diablo II' plug and play

Naturally, the remastered version has a lot of people all interested. For those who have worked long and hard to kick their very own addiction towards the game, it is going to be quite rough when the game finally releases. The overall similarity has also allowed the developers to be able to keep the exact same save file structures. This means players can take a really old save from back in the day which is almost 20 years old and simply plug it into the "Diablo II: Resurrected."

There is also reportedly cross-play support for the upcoming game. This means players will be able to pick it up on the different consoles or even the PC and be able to access the exact same progression on all of the platforms.
