Today, AMD launched the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card based on RDNA2 Architecture as the other RX 6000-series graphics card. However, this model offers the low price in the series so far for only $479.

Radeon RX 6700 XT Specifications

According to GSMArena, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a smaller GPU than the other three 6000-series graphics cards. This GPU has 40 compute units, 64 ROPs, 160 texture units, and 2560 stream processors. One of the exciting things about the AMD graphics card is the aggressive clock speed that measures a relatively high 2424MHz under a load of "Game Frequency," as AMD likes to call it.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT gives a compute performance of 12.41 TFLOPs that helps it close the gap on with the $100 more expensive and relatively lower clocked RX 8000. On the memory side, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has 12GB of GDDR6 of unknown speed with a 192-bit memory interface and up to 384GBs of bandwidth. AMD has reduced the infinity Cache size to 96MB on this model.

In terms of connectivity, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has three DisplayPort 1.4 ports with DSC and a single HDMI 2.1. The reference card requires standard 8+6 pins of power and the card has a typical board power of 230W.

Globenewswire reports that the Radeon RX 6700 XT pushes the gaming limits by enabling incredible high-refresh 1440p performance and breathtaking visual fidelity. AMD Smart Access Memory and other advanced technologies to meet the ever-increasing demands of modern games. Delivering up to 2X higher gaming performance in selected titles with unique new features compared to the current installed base of older-generation graphics cards and providing more than 165 FPS in selected eSports titles.

"The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card hits the sweet spot for 1440p gaming," said Scott Herkelman, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Graphics Business Unit at AMD. He also added that modern games are more demanding than ever and require increasing computing horsepower levels to deliver the breathtaking immersive experience gamers expect.

Herkelman continued that the Radeon RX 6700 XT is the perfect upgrade for gamers who are still playing with three-four-year-old graphics cards as it offers to deliver incredible visuals and no-compromises, the high refresh rate of 1440p gaming performance at maximum settings.

Radeon RX 6700 XT Price and Release Date

TechRadar reports that the Radeon RX 6700 XT was announced at AMD's "Where the Gaming Begins" event on Mar. 3. It will be available on store shelves and online on Mar. 18, so gamers know when to start mashing the F5 button.

Unlike other AMD Big Navi launches, the company will be launching both the graphics cars it manufactures and third-party AIB card partners such as MSI and XFX. It hopes that this simultaneous launch will be enough to get the graphics card into the hand of more gamers, rather than miners and resellers, but only time will tell if that will pay off.
