AMD was near bankruptcy when Dr. Lisa Su first stepped up as CEO in 2014, but now, the technology company is back to buying companies with Xilinx's recent acquisition. AMD is back on the map to grow its company and lead the computer hardware industry as the technology of choice to power the world's needs.
The Santa Clara-based American multinational semiconductor company, Advanced Micro Devices, also known as AMD, is now back to provide the world with all needs and solidify itself as the top choice for computer hardware. The company attributes its success to none other than its leader and CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, who led the company to industrial growth.
AMD is known for its semiconductors and processors, which go against industry leaders, with fellow Americans, Intel, and NVidia. AMD is famous for its mid-range and top-range processors that are the hardware of choice by a handful of gamers around the entire world.

AMD's $35 Billion Xilinx Acquisition: Dr. Lisa Su Made it Possible
AMD recently acquired competitor Xilinx in a $35 billion acquisition buy-out, with Dr. Lisa Su leading the charge and engaging with the company. Both semiconductor companies are merging with a 74 percent stake for AMD and 26 percent for Xilinx. The merger puts AMD in a dangerous spot to go against its industry-leading rivals.
According to Anand Tech, Dr. Lisa Su's effort aligned both companies' ideas and visions for a stronger AMD to create more powerful semiconductors and computer hardware. Xilinx's adaptive computing solutions can help AMD reach its goals to top the current industry.
Lisa Su: Bringing the Company to the Top After Dark Moments
Dr. Lisa Su admits that AMD was in its dark moments when she was offered the job, and even took responsibility for the company. However, this did not hinder or scare the CEO to take the job. She envisioned an excellent future for the company and its ventures, then worked from there.
According to CNN, AMD was losing more than it gains and holds a massive amount of debt when Dr. Lisa Su took the company CEO's mantle. Despite the problems, this did not stop Dr. Su from taking on her dream job to be the head and leader of one of the world's leading semiconductor companies.
Dr. Su said that being CEO needs to embody the "company DNA" to fully understand what the company needs to focus on to bounce back from its situation. AMD's real niche is developing robust computer processors and graphic chips, Radeon and RyZen, gaming, supercomputing, artificial intelligence, etc.
The company's focus led to regaining its strengths back, leading it to progress over the years, laying the foundation for AMD's 2020 success. The company currently rose 1,300 percent more than its stature in 2014, with a near 150 percent growth in 2019 alone.
Now, Dr. Lisa Su and AMD are enjoying the fruits of their labor since her first lead in 2014. AMD's Xilinx acquisition is still on the road for the company's growth, and the CEO shows no plans of slowing down.
