Samsung Galaxy S20 is the previous smartphone flagship of Apple's biggest competitor. Although it might seem old, some users are still staying with Samsung S21's predecessor. The question is, is Samsung Galaxy S20 really still worth purchasing?
According to CNET's latest report, if people are going to upgrade their Samsung Galaxy S20, the first thing they'll do is compare it with the latest Samsung Galaxy S21. To help you with that, here is the spec-by-spec guide of the two advanced smartphones;
Samsung Galaxy S21 Vs. Samsung Galaxy S20
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition or FE is Galaxy S21's predecessor and the company's latest most affordable smartphone. Since it is a budget phone, it is expected to have some disadvantages against the latest S20 series of the tech giant manufacturer.
One of the most noticeable advantages of the Samsung Galaxy S21 is its processor since it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, which is backed by 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE only has the previous Snapdragon 865 chipset accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Aside from the processor, Samsung Galaxy S21 also has the upper hand when it comes to camera lenses. In Galaxy S21's case, it features a 64-megapixel telephoto shooter headlining its triple rear camera setup. Apple's biggest competitor also redesigned its latest smartphone's camera housing, which accentuates the camera lenses on the phones' backs while linking them with their metal frames.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE only has a 12-megapixel standard lens. However, S21's predecessor also has some advantages such as a microSD card slot for expandable storage and charger. These two features are what Samsung Galaxy S21 is currently lacking.
Should you still buy Samsung Galaxy S20 FE?
Since Samsung Galaxy S21 has lots of features that are better than what Samsung Galaxy S20 offers, it is obvious that Samsung Galaxy S20 is no longer worth buying if you are looking for advanced specs. But, if you are only looking for a great smartphone that will allow you to take great pictures and play online games, then Samsung Galaxy S20 is still worth it.
Aside from the mentioned features, Neowin also said that there are some reasons why people should no longer buy Samsung Galaxy S20. These include high-refresh-rate display limitations, no 5G connection, massive size, and a very expensive price.
