Daring sword fights! Andre the Giant! True love! That's right, we're talking about The Princess Bride, but this next sentence may come as inconceivable to some -- there is now an official The Princess Bride mobile game.
Yes, really. Nearly three decades after the 1987 movie classic released, fans can now relive iconic moments from the film with the $3.99 game from Gameblend Studios. It features the likeness of all the characters from the film and "mobilfies" them into more cutesy cartoon characters. Players can climb the cliffs of insanity (and collect coins), bash eels, engage in swashbuckling swordfights and even wrestle giants (by swiping in different directions.) You can watch the clever trailer for the game below.
The game's $3.99 price tag also includes access to "Fire Swamp" downloadable content, which will be added to the title at a later date. The official Princess Bride mobile game is currently only available on iOS, but an Android version is on the way.
But wait! Wasn't there already a Princess Bride game, you cry? Like the one below, for example?
Yes. That game came out back in 2008. It looks like the site where the game was played no longer functions (likely because Gameblend now has the exclusive rights to make a game on the film.) Which game is better? Hard to say. According to one customer review for the new mobile game, it is "inconceivably difficult."
