YouTuber Marques Brownlee talks about the Xiaomi Mi 11 in a review made just recently on his YouTube channel. What differentiated this review from other smartphone reviews was when the YouTuber noted that there were things within the Xiaomi Mi 11 that could become a trend in 2021.
Xiaomi Mi 11 review
Xiaomi Mi 11 has started to become even more popular due to its specs for a given price noted by some as a very good deal for its price. An article by AndroidAuthority even notes that it is a "great bang for your buck" when it comes to its price and what is offered within those prices.
One thing that Marques Brownlee focused on is the phone's use of the Snapdragon 888 which he noted as a high-end chip that offers good performance that a lot of people now take for granted. It was also noted that all of the offered RAM as well as the 120Hz display at 1440p is also something that should be appreciated.
Practicality
Marques Brownlee also notes that the phone has 5G built into the chip. While 5G has been growing in popularity over the years, there are two ways that this chip is built into the smartphone. One way, like what the Xiaomi Mi 11 does, is to build the 5G directly into the chip.
The other way for 5G to be included is for it to be an entirely separate piece like a 5G modem which technically takes up more power. Marques Brownlee then noted that 5G being built into the users' phone without them having to think or stress about it is what he considers as the "new normal."
Vegan Leather
An interesting thing that Marques Brownlee noted is that the Xiaomi Mi 11 comes in two options for its back, either the glass back or the "vegan leather" back. He then explained that vegan leather is not technically leather but instead the user of complex plastic to imitate leather texture. He noted that the use of that complicated technology to come up with vegan leather on the back could be considered as another one of the new normal or just a more common features buyers should expect.
The reason for this is that most people would expect the premium feel of the faux leather on the back to be available for phones priced around $1100 but with the Xiaomi Mi 11, it shows that phones within a more affordable price range can also include this particular feature. He then stated that the vegan leather being available for phones in the $700 price range is a good feature. However, the YouTuber noted that the Xiaomi Mi 11 vegan leather back felt kind of cheap.
