An image of a Tesla Model S has been circulating online for days, and people are wondering if it is real or if it was just made by a random stranger who is giving a glimpse of what could have been.

Tesla Model S

The images that have been circulating online on numerous forums and social media platforms including the Twitter account of the Tesla Owners UK, show the car on display inside of a dealership that seems to be based in Europe, based on the vehicles parked outside and the architecture of the building surrounding the dealership.

Tesla fans are now arguing on whether it is Photoshopped or if the image is real. Some of the lines, along with the overall size of the Tesla Model S give the two-door convertible iteration a vibe that is similar to that of a Maserati GranCabrio. It is stylish, sleek and it makes for a more expensive-looking vehicle.

Although it is notable that the lack of a roll bar could be deemed problematic, if this is indeed a real two-door convertible Tesla vehicle.

Another thing that people are unsure of is if there is an actual folding roof that is placed underneath all of the custom metalwork at the rear. If there is, it is most likely a soft top. If it is real, then people are worried about the lack of roll bars unless their hidden behind the rear headrests which would be a very complex and very expensive solution for a custom build.

The image itself reminds most people of a Tesla S Roadster sketch by Ares Design. However, the image is probably not since Tesla never released any official statement after the initial sketch went viral online. It is possible that the project itself is still in development.

As for whether the vehicle looks better or worse than the regular Tesla Model S, that kind of question does not really come with a straight-forward answer.

The Tesla Model S is a great looking vehicle, meanwhile this two-door convertible version is pretty great too unlike those four-door convertible vehicles that were released in the past. It is still not known if this vehicle is real or if it is Photoshopped.

Tesla Model 3 convertible option

The Tesla Model 3 is a four-door sedan with an open-top option. This vehicle will cost you $29,500, according to MotorTrend, or if you wish to have a folding soft top to be operated at the push of a button, then you will have to pay $10,000.

The price does not include the donor car, which will then cost you another $40,000 if you settle for the entry-level, around $48,000 for the Long Range trim level and $57,000 for the Performance. If you agree with NPC's terms, you will need to part ways with your vehicle for at least two or three months, as that is how much it will take for them to chop and reinforce the required materials for the conversion.

The company also claims that the soft top has been tested in wind and heavy rain to make sure that it can withstand harsh elements.
