Web Whatsapp 2.21.1.11 Update Includes Bug Fixes, But Should You Download?

Just recently, WhatsApp has released a new update for its web version now up for final beta testing in Google PlayStore Beta. The WhatsApp 2.21.1.11 update is a web release that comprises all bug fixes that were released since the last beta version. The previous beta versions that had these changes were already submitted to PlayStore. According to WebAtInfo, this latest update is "like a release candidate, a final beta."

WhatsApp, however, recommends that only real users and not those part in a beta testing download the latest 2.21.1.11 update. WaBetaInfo says, "We recommend you to update to this version if you are not a beta tester. If you are a beta tester, you shouldn't update to 2.21.1.11, because it's a build reserved for everyone."

Web WhatsApp Beta Testing

WhatsApp does not recommend Beta Users to download the latest update, but what is beta testing? A software test includes Alpha testing, which is a test to identify bugs and problems by people within the organization. On the other hand, Beta Testing is what comes after Alpha that is conducted by people outside the organizations. Beta Testing is considered as one of the Acceptance Testings needed to verify a software.

Beta testing is important in order to add value to the software. As an end-user or a real user, beta testers assess the usability, compatibility, functionality, as well as the reliability of the software update. Furthermore, once the software is tested, inputs provided by beta testers will be important to enhance the quality of products so that it may contribute to the success of the software. Any improvement or improvisation will be influenced greatly by beta testing.

Because this new beta by WhatsApp has been released to Google Beta, you can actually sign up to be a beta tester here.

WhatsApp New Updates Include Bug Fixes and Functionality Improvements for Web

Mostly, the changes involve improvement in bug fixes and an addition of a Multi Device feature. "WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows you to use your WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time, without requiring an active Internet connection on the main device." says WaBetaInfo.

This is one of the most apparent limitations for WhatsApp. With the new update, you can now use two devices without the need for the other device to be active. For instance, if you've connected your WhatsApp mobile to your WhatsApp desktop, you can now receive calls and messages on your desktop without the need for your main device (phone) to be active.

Another thing that the website says is to "Note that, if a feature was rolled out for a previous beta version, it's not sure that the 2.21.1.11 update already contains it, being available for everyone."

For the meantime, this is not yet available for the public in playstore. More updates will be made by WhatsApp when this update is ready for release after beta testing.
