Although Sony has not officially released a specific restock date, sources from twitter hint that inventory might come anytime soon. Twitter User PS5 Stock Central a handle who covers updates with about 36.5k followers says, "Retailers are expecting stock to arrive for orders on the 7th January." See tweet below:

Keep an Eye to Major retailers for the PS5 Console

Although there are no official confirmations for this tweet, CNet notes that it's worth waiting to look forward for any alerts on January 7, with retailers such as Walmart and Best Buy as probable target shipment centers. However, there are no official news yet as retailers have not tweeted or announced any major update to drop inventory this week.

Since Sony's launch of the PS5 console in the US last November 12, the massive demand has definitely superseded the console inventory. This is due to ordinary users who just wanted to buy "one console" had to compete with bots and resellers who buy in huge quantities for reselling.

A story reported by EyeWitness News says a 20-year old waits for 36 hours outside Game Stop to purchase one PS5 console last November.

It has not been a good situation since 2020, but twitter users who update people of probable shipments give them a light of hope that new PS5 restocks are coming on early January. To add to that, Sony has probably managed its shipping operations, and is expected to deliver a smoother and more seamless transaction for 2021.

However, the issue with the European Union has made political and economic blunders for any faster transactions with regards to shipment. Nonetheless, it is still worth noting that updates to possible dates and stores to stock up inventory are being spread to users in social media.

PS5: Just Wait a Little Longer

For the meantime, PS5 consoles are still available in sites like eBay and StockX. However, this has created controversy and a major buzz online since they are selling PS5 consoles at a very high price point. They increase the retail value of $400 or $500 multiple times, where it becomes too impractical and out of reach.

With this price point, it can be best to wait for the upcoming shipment that may come anytime soon. For now, it's best to decide on the best console choice for you. The PS5 is made available in two versions, a $500 console with blue-ray, and a $400 without a disc slot. If you do not have a stock of optical discs, you can be good with the $400 version.

For the time being, it's best to wait for updates from Twitter Users such as PS5 central who can get first-hand information from Ps5 whereabouts.
