The original cross-platform, open-source Xbox emulator known as Xemu is coming up with the Xemu v.05 that will reportedly have better audio and graphics. This emulator has been quite popular in the past and with its new version, could become even more popular.
What is XEMU?
According to the article by TweakTown, the writer describes how he still remembers actually walking into a previous EB Games and physically buying the original Xbox alongside the original Halo and even Project Gotham Racing then losing about 6-12 months of his life. However, it was still reportedly with it. As of the moment, there are emulators available like the new Xemu v0.5 release that is supposedly better than it has ever been.
The brand new Xemu v0.5 emulator will reportedly come with certain audio and graphical improvements. They will also be able to run natively on many different operating systems. This will make it even more accessible for gamers to use should they prefer playing using an emulator.
Here are the following operating systems that support Xemu v.05:
MacOS
Windows
Linux
There are even pre-compiled binaries that are reportedly available for macOS, Windows, and even Ubuntu for those that still plan on tinkering around.

Xemu v0.5 important inclusions:
Open Source - users are finally invited to help the team improve the total project by pitching in their skills and talents that could help make the emulator better
Cross Platform - Xemu can now run natively on the operating systems mentioned above namely macOS, Windows, Linux. It also has pre-compiled binaries available for macOS, Windows, and even Ubuntu.
System Link - Networking should supposedly be out of the box allowing connections to other instances of the xemu and even the real Xboxes either locally or through the internet.
Gamepad Support - originally built on the SDL2, Xemu now supports virtually all of the available gamepads. This means that it can connect all the way up to 4 different controllers at any given time. This is quite similar to the real Xbox.
Snapshots - there's technically no need for players to wait for certain checkpoints. Xemu now supports saving the player's current state and loading it back whenever the player may choose.
An article by Wccftech even promotes the Xemu v0.5 emulator's trailer showing just how improved the gaming experience will be for its users. The official video was uploaded on the xemu: Original Xbox Emulator channel on YouTube.
