Bosch's current chairman surely made his stance against electric vehicles as he commented that it contributes more pollution compared to gas-powered cars, particularly the battery packs. The auto supply company is known worldwide for its quality accessories and equipment, but its chairman just showed that he is against innovation and prefers to stick with ICE cars.
The largest automotive supply company from Germany, Bosch, is under fire for its recent comment and stand that shows its direct opposition against next-generation electric vehicles that aims to answer the global pollution from cars. The comment came from the global government trend that promotes the use of electric vehicles over the internal combustion engine (ICE) cars.
Bosch's Fehrenback vs. Electric Vehicles: Same Pollution as ICE or More
According to a German news website T3N, Bosch's current chairman Franz Fehrenbach has strong comments that go against the widespread popularity of electric vehicles that are being promoted massively in the industry. The chairman even went on to say that there are "double standards" when it comes to the disadvantages of both vehicles, by only exposing ICE's flaws.
The Bosch chairman has reiterated that electric vehicles contribute to pollution as much as ICE cars, particularly its production in the Asian countries which centers on coal-powered plants. Fehrenbach even reasons that the production method also pollutes with the same CO2 (carbon dioxide) which ICEs produce, and might even be the same amount.
According to Fehrenbach, battery production and charging were hiding the CO2 produce it generates, which is just the same as ICE's pollution as used in daily driving and the streets. The chairman continues to say that electric vehicles are not yet ready for the market as it still lacks the proper infrastructures that would complement its promise of zero carbon emissions.
Bosch Chairman: Stands against Electric Vehicle like Toyota CEO
The Bosch chairman argued that ICE cars can be operated in a climate-neutral manner, the same as the promises and claims of the highly popular electric vehicles that are sold in the market today. Fehrenbach also suggested the use of fuel alternatives including hydrogen which can generate climate-neutral wastes, hence, the retention of internal combustion engine cars.
According to Electrek, the same statement Bosch said resembles what the Toyota CEO said last December when it showed its stand against the next-generation vehicle that runs on electricity and batteries. The statement that says electric vehicles pollute more than ICE cars is a form of misinformation or fake news as studies show that what they said was inaccurate.
Bosch's Electromobility Technology without the Batteries
T3N regarded Bosch's plans in the past that focused on battery production technology, which they ultimately scrapped and left behind. Now, the company claims that it wants to pursue electric mobility but has not created batteries that would contribute to the latest technology for EVs.
