Long drives are surely tiring especially when the drivers are alone or have no one to substitute them from the wheel; however, Tesla may change all of that with its autonomous driving feature, the Full Self-Driving mode that is still in the beta testing phase, has proven itself for a long haul from San Fransisco to Los Angeles, California.
The clean energy company, Tesla, has delivered one of its most awaited technology to the lucky users who have received their version of the new software that is still in its beta testing phase. While some users are off enjoying their FSD beta privately, some have been showcasing its functions and shares it with the public via video that documents the experience.
Whole Mars Catalog recently posted their holiday trip that uses a Tesla Model 3 that received a Full Self-Driving beta software which drove from San Fransisco to Los Angeles, which are both in the same state. Notably, the driving distance (which takes roads, streets, etc. into account) from both of the cities of California is 383 miles.

Tesla Model 3 FSD: 383 Miles without Human Intervention
The video showed and narrated how the Model 3 brought its owners from a grueling long haul drive that is almost 5 hours and 30 minutes long for its estimated travel time via cars. The YouTuber and tech blogger took the I-5 interstate road that leads a direct highway from San Fransisco to Los Angeles.
The trip took on the actual streets of San Fransisco all the way to Los Angeles' busy roads, with the Tesla FSD commandeering the entire trip and wheel without the blogger's help. The only intervention the blogger shared is inputting the GPS destinations and activating the FSD, and the two stopovers he needed to charge the electric vehicle's battery in two charging stations.
Moreover, the blogger noted that upon his drive to Los Angeles, there was debris that immediately popped up and he took over the wheel instead of letting the FSD work its way around it. Still, the Whole Mars Catalog blogger noted that San Fransisco to Los Angeles is completely autonomous and flawless with the FSD beta.
Tesla FSD Beta: Is it Good Enough for a Public Release?
The question now is whether Tesla's Full Self-Driving beta is good enough for a wide public release, where people can experience it and use it on a daily basis, not just on long hauls and planned trips. The FSD's future function would mainly focus on busy roads and streets, with people letting the car travel on its own towards their destinations.
There are still doubts and speculations regarding the autonomous driving technology that was innovated by Tesla, but this is by far a great demonstration that the tech is almost complete. According to End Gadget, despite its promises, the FSD is not yet in its complete form that is good enough for the public.
More tweaks and upgrades are needed to ensure the total safety and peace of mind of all passengers of the FSD.
