After almost four years, "NieR: Automata's" Final Secret has been revealed. This newly released cheat sheet code allows the players to only beat the first boss and skip the entire game. Sources reveal that this final secret is indeed what the game developers have been gushing about a few years ago- and we're here to spread the news.
"Nier: Automata"- A Game of Secrets
"Nier: Automata" is an action and role-playing game that has been released way back in 2017. It has been developed by PlatinumGames and is a sequel to the then 2010 video game "Nier". The game itself is filled with secrets and mysteries to unlock. It requires multiple playthroughs, where every accomplishment you make allows you to unlock an element. The plot revolves around a proxy war between human-crafted androids and alien-created machines. It has features such as switching between video game genres that are reflective of that of "Nier."
The only way to truly win the game is to get past multiple playthroughs AKA play the game multiple times to be able to unlock different endings and stories along the way. Back then, the developers teased a secret that could potentially put an end to the gamers' frustrations. Little did we know, after four years gamers from Twitter could discover a secret cheat code that allows you to skip all the fuzz after just beating the first boss.
The Cheat Code can Save Your Life
But why the need for a cheat code? Wouldn't that spoil the game? In "Nier: Automata" , getting past the ending E means you have to got through a tough arcade shooter game sequence where you need to destroy the credits of the game. Once you've succeeded in the conquest, you can sacrifice your save data for the sake of helping others beat this ending. The sacrifice is that once you give up your data and help others, you lose all of the progress that you've made throughout the game. This is when you may need the cheat code, as it allows you to skip all of this, and allows you to sacrifice save data after only beating the first boss in the game.
The popular gamer and video blogger Lande McDonald is the hero who discovered this wild secret. He has been known to be a technical game "genius" who discovers secrets, codes, and glitches in different games. He claims he had found the cheat code, and that it "isn't a glitch, but an actual cheat code hard-coded into the engine."
Although McDonald didn't explain in detail what's going on in the video he uploaded in Twitter, it shows that after beating the first boss, he heads to some barrels and starts inputting the code. Afterwards, the screen fades and the game lets you save your data.
According to the gamer, "hundreds of hours" of reverse engineering into the game's code and engine was what it took for him to discover the cheat code. What's mindblowing is that shortly after his tweet, the game director Yoko Taro himself confirmed that the cheat code was indeed the final secret.
Even the Japanese Nier account in Twitter agrees that the last secret has been unveiled by the cheat code. McDonald, who has made a name in history by discovering the last secret promises that he will soon release a video in the public about the whole process of the cheat code. Until then, enjoy the challenges of the game while it lasts!
