Several weeks after the launch of Sony PlayStation 5, tens of thousands of gaming enthusiasts were still unable to get their consoles due to the lack of stocks from Sony Direct and other major retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, and Newegg, among others.
PS5 Consoles Out of Stock
This is all partly due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that made all these stores only making the next-gen console available online, and partly due to scalpers who would use bots to check out thousands of available consoles from these retailers much faster than legitimate consumers, leading to the consoles quickly selling out.
To help gamers, there are several PS5 restock alerts and notifications available online on Reddit and Twitter that alert them whenever stocks have become available on these retailers.
Moreover, most gamers also frequently visit and refresh websites of Sony Direct, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target to manually check if there are new PS5 consoles in stock to finally get their hands on the console.
More PS5 Stocks Coming Soon?
Before the Christmas holiday arrived, several shops like Sony Direct, Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart had PS5 restocks, but unsurprisingly, everything was gone in less than an hour, meaning there are still more enthusiasts who haven't yet bought a console.
Nevertheless, according to Newsweek, gamers should not lose hope as Sony recently tweeted that they are working to push more PS5 stocks in the market before the year ends.
"Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year-please stay in touch with your local retailers," the tech giant said.
With the Christmas rush finally dying down, gaming enthusiasts might finally get their hands on a PS5 before the year ends.
PS5 Restock Update
However, where exactly will PS5 restocks happen?
Target, one of the major retailers for PS5 stocks, haven't exactly made any announcements of big restocks coming, nevertheless, the retail giant has been silently adding stocks to their online store, so it's best to check their website now and again.
PopFindr and BrickSeek appear to stop working on Target, so keep the website open.
Best Buy was among the retailers that managed to have PS5 restocks before Christmas, but of course, the stocks have since then sold out, and it seems like the retailer hasn't made any announcement of possible restocks.
But do check out Best Buy's website for possible restocks and their social media accounts for announcements.
Walmart was also able to do a PS5 restock before Christmas, but lately, they haven't made any announcements of restocks, but do check out their website from time to time.
In a recent report by Tom's Guide, the retailer promised they are doing everything to fight scalpers and bots to give legitimate customers more chances of snagging a PS5.
Lastly, Newegg was also able to find some restocks last week, but the consoles are currently out of stock today and no announcement has been made, but it's possible they would silently release PS5 restocks, so check out the website.
