'Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War' & 'COD: Warzone' Wakizashi Guide: How to Perform the Finishing Moves

People who have not played any "Call of Duty" games may think it's all about guns. But truth be told, there's an array of options for melee weapons, especially in "Cold War" and "Warzone," such as the Wakizashi, a katana that kills opponents in close range.

Requirement for Unlocking Wakizashi

However, the Wakizashi is not something "COD" fans can instantly get, they'll actually have to become a Combat Knife expert and then perform the Finishing Moves before the weapon can be unlocked, according to RPS.

But exactly how do you perform these Finishing Moves with your trust knife?

To unlock the Wakizashi, players need to complete the requirements, which Twitter user ModernWarzone has successfully acquired a screenshot and shared them via his account.

How to Do the Finishing Moves

Based on the screenshot the player acquired, the requirement says, "With the Combat Knife equipped, execute 2 Finishing Moves in 10 different matches," and here's how you can do the Moves:

  • Go up behind an enemy without them knowing
  • Hold down the Melee button (any button you press to do melee attacks when you are holding a gun).

That's it! You basically just need to sneak up behind an enemy and then do a melee attack with your Combat Knife, but despite looking extremely simple, it's way harder to sneak up behind an enemy, so you'll need to come up with a plan on how you'll execute that.

Besides having difficulty sneaking up behind an enemy, you'll also have to ensure that you survive until you kill the enemy.

If you get shot before you were able to kill the enemy, that will not count. It will also not count if your teammate kills your target before you finish your move, so you'll definitely want to talk to your teammates about it, especially as they can help distract an enemy while you sneak up behind them.

Plus, you have to do two Finishing Moves for 10 matches before you can unlock Wakizashi.

Best 'Warzone' and 'Cold War' Perks

The matches can be done in either "COD Warzone" or "COD Cold War" multiplayer, and it's much easier to unlock the weapon through the multiplayer mode.

Once you see the counter increase in the weapon unlock menu, you can quit out of the game and start anew to make things faster.

Speaking of fast, to unlock one of the best "COD" melee weapons for "Warzone" and "Cold War," you'll want a Combat Knife class that has a Perk Greed, with the following perks as the best choices for sneaking around enemies to unlock Wakizashi:

  • Perk 1: Tactical Mask
  • Perk 1: Forward Intel
  • Perk 2: Tracker
  • Perk 2: Quartermaster
  • Perk 3: Ninja
  • Perk 3: Ghost

You can also use these perks if you want to unlock the Sledgehammer available in both "COD" games, and as much as possible, you'll want to stay away from Stun Grenades and Danger Close as these will only alert the enemy of your location, making a sneaky kill almost impossible.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, while "Call of Duty: Warzone" is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
