"Among Us" is one of the games that doesn't provide any backgrounds of their characters. Maybe it's because the game only has simple mechanics.
However, some people are still wondering where the impostors came from and why they can't kill the crewmates all at once. If you're a serial killer, an alien, or a monster, then you wouldn't have a second thought about devouring or murdering your victim.
But, in "Among Us," the impostor needs to wait for 15 or 30 seconds before he or she can kill another victim. To answer this question, a YouTube channel under the name "Mr.Chubywubs The Cat," posted a video about her theory why the game's impostors do not kill everyone as fast as possible.
Why Impostors have kill-cooldown
The YouTuber really has a simple but realistic idea of why impostors are waiting for a few seconds before killing another crewmate.
She said that the impostor is a parasite. It uses its tongue, gun, or knife to kill a crew member. The influencer added that after the killer finished the victim, it cleans its gun or knife before targeting another innocent player.
"When it puts its tongues through the glass, I'm guessing it wants to like take out the pieces of glass out of its tongue. So kind of regenerate more of and that's what I think the kill cooldown is," she further explained.
Where do Impostors come from?
According to Screen Rant's previous report, "Among Us" impostors came from Polus, one of the game maps. They were previously just regular crewmates until they found a rare power source or mineral.
It was explained that the power source was needed to sustain MIRA HQ. One of the proofs is that they set an outpost on an icy, cold planet.
This means that they are looking for something in Polus. Another evidence is the tools on the workbench and a hole in the ground. But, the best proof is the parasitic creatures contained in glass tanks.
It is believed that the crewmates studied them. The work-like creatures might have escaped and infected some of the crewmates, or they are just shapeshifters, tricking the astronauts into thinking that they are also members.
But, that is still a theory, who knows where the impostors really came from.
