While the popular "Among Us" game is widely believed to be a game about a group of crewmates all trying to find who is the "impostor" among them, Reddit user I_exist_YAYY has recently sparked quite the discussion that presents more evidence as why there could actually be no impostor at all.
The impostor is said to be just a paranoid crewmember
According to Screen Rant, the online theory as to why there could be no "impostors" at all starts with the belief that the whole game is just a horror story about someone who becomes paranoid and actually starts randomly starts to kill off everyone in the hopes to be able to sniff out, unbeknownst to him, the actual "fictitious" impostor.
This paranoid crewmate is said to be a paranoid who believes what he is doing is saving everyone but in reality, he is doing the opposite. The actions which the impostor believes are heroic then turn him into the villainous impostor towards the end.
Impostor a 'parasitic shapeshifter'?
The "Among Us" website itself does state that the impostor is actually a "parasitic shapeshifter" while many have used this statement to completely debunk the theory. The fun part of the theory still discusses how the arguable introduction of InnerSloth's own parasitic shapeshifter could actually be the exact horror story that is haunting the said paranoid Crewmate.
In addition, it is also believed that since the impostor cannot do any tasks, he could actually be just too paranoid. The counter argument, however, is in the known Sabotage feature. It was stated in the theory that it just would not make sense for the particular crewmate that is in question to personally impair the whole ship since this would definitely affect his very own safety.

The logial approach to the whole fan theory
This entertaining and also a bit more logical twist to the whole theory would be that if the said parasitic shapeshifters actually used a particular Crewmate as a host, bringing the entire slow overtaking as well as eventual demise of the mentioned Crewmate, could mean that for a brief period of time, the paranoid Crewmate could still be himself but then slowly descend into madness as his own body as well as sole is slowly being taken over. This would then explain how the said impostor could vent, still see even in the dark, and also do things that other crewmates cannot.
To top everything with a more psychological approach, this could also support the justifications given by the Impostor as he believes that what he is doing is actually heroic and not, in any way, meant to harm the whole crew. This, of course, is still a theory that InnerSloth has not yet gave a comment about.
