Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 has been making some noise in the chipset industry. Several leaks have suggested that Qualcomm's new product will be 25% compared to its predecessor.
According to Notebook Check's latest report, the new chipset, code-named "Lahaina," has made its very first appearance on AnTuTu since it has evaded the Chinese software benchmarking tool.
AnTuTu is usually used to benchmark different devices, such as smartphones. The utility is owned by Cheetah Mobile.
GSM Arena reported that the chipset received a score of over 847,000 points in AnTuTu's early benchmark. This could be a hint that it'll really be faster since its predecessor only received 663,000 points. That's more than 2,000 difference.
Snapdragon's 875 AnTuTu benchmark score
A Twitter user under the name "Abhishek Yadav" first leaked the screenshot of Snapdragon's AnTuTu score.
The post currently has 15 comments, 262 likes, and 55 retweets.
"Snapdragon 875 (Lahaina) Benchmark Score 8,47,868 VersusSnapdragon 865+ Benchmark Score 6,29,245," he captioned.
However, there are some people who didn't believe the screenshots. A user under the name NOT Udayakumar said that he wants full proof.
"Its amazing Qualcomm Can Beat Any Processor In Benchmark and Antutu but the Real Test Will Be When Qualcomm Used In Its Own Smartphone," said Pankaj Singh Bhandari, another Twitter user.
What to expect with Snapdragon 875
According to Slash Gear's previous report, Snapdragon 875 might have the ARM Cortex-X1 Super Core. Because of this, it is expected that the new chipset will provide a stellar performance.
Since 5nm chips are almost 20% more powerful and 25% smaller in size than the 7nm SoCs, it is expected that Qualcomm's upcoming product will be better than Snapdragon 865 Plus, the manufacturer's current flagship.
On the other hand, it was claimed that the Snapdragon 875 chipset would be manufactured by Samsung Electronics this time around since the company previously got a contract with Qualcomm.
However, Samsung Electronics didn't produce the Snapdragon 820 back in 2016. As of the moment, these speculations can't be considered valid until the new chipset is launched.
