TechPowerUp first reported the release, stating that the manufacturer's Hydro X series of custom water cooling components. Corsair still hasn't marketed its new technology.

The Hydro X Series XC5, the new CPU block, is pretty hard to see on the official website. However, the product is evidently a new release, which will target a more budget-friendly CPU accessory, compared to Hydro XC7 and Hydro XC9 blocks.

Hydro X Series XC5's features

Corsair's latest CPU's water cooling accessory showcases a cold plate that's milled from copper. It also contains a high-density fin array inside.

This supports the heat transfer from the copper into the water. According to Toms Hardware's latest report, the Hydro X Series XC5 comes with pre-applied thermal grease, together with a nylon top.

Although the material is expected to be cheaper, it can still decrease the cracking risk compared to the acrylic found in the XC9 blocks and XC7.

It was explained that although acrylic provides the product with a better appearance, it is still hard to work with.

Why the $60 XC5 can still compete in the market

Yes, Corsair's Hydro X Series XC5 price is only $60. However, it still has the power to compete with other game CPU accessories. Despite its cheap price point, this product is still packed with addressable-RGB lighting with 16 LEDs. However, the LEDs are grouped in pairs, giving you a total of 8 RGB zones you can manage.

This allows you to save more money on the controller. There could still be more features coming your way since Corsair hasn't released that much information about the custom water cooling.
