A brand new Tesla software leak has just recently revealed that the known automaker is actually planning to bring a particular HEPA filter, which will enable Tesla to have a Bioweapon Defense Mode for the Model Y.
With the known Model X along with the Model S, Tesla has already started to put a massive HEPA-rated air filter installed inside its own units. The main idea is for the car manufacturer to put its efforts into actually developing a specifically more powerful air filtration system within the vehicle in order to be able to not only contribute towards the reduction of the local air pollution with the use of the EV, but also to be able to reduce the direct impact of the known air pollution from the occupants within the vehicle.
Tesla HEPA Filter: How did the idea come to life and what can be expected?
According to an article by Electrek, it was Google's co-founder known as Larry Page who actually turned Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO onto this idea.
The automaker actually claims that the known filter in the new Model X is going to be at least 10 times much larger than that of a normal car. It was also said to be about 100 times more effective compared to premium automotive filters by removing at least 99.97% of the said "fine particulate matter" as well as "gaseous pollutants". This will include pollen, bacteria, viruses, and also mold spores.
When operation reaches full blast, Tesla actually claims that it is going to be powerful enough in order to protect the users against potential bioweapon attack. This results in the name of the given mode.

How was the Tesla Bioweapon Defense mode spotted?
The filter was also introduced later on within the Model S but somehow, it did not find its way to either the Model 3 and also the Model Y. Currently, the Tesla hacker more popularly known as "green" has recently found, and posted to Twitter, a few new indications in the most recent Tesla software update that the known automaker is indeed bringing the HEPA filter as well as the Bioweapon Defense Mode to the said Model Y.
According to what "green" found, the known Model 3, apparently, will not be getting the known HEPA filter based on the given software. Mask had already previously stated that Tesla in fact does not have room for this bigger filtration system within the Model 3. The software, however, shows that the very first filter is going to be able to allow a bioweapon defense mode within the Tesla Model Y.
