Sony updates its previous announcement of the ten PlayStation 4 games that would not be available for play in the upcoming console in November, the PlayStation 5. Sony's backwards compatibility has gone from not allowing many old PS4 games to be accessed and played on the PS5 to having less than ten on its list.
Two days ago, Sony released a list of games in PlayStation 4, that would not be read by PlayStation 5. The list was already stripped and subtracted down to a minimal ten titles; however, it still shrinks as of now.
PlayStation 5: Backward Compatibility's Additional Games
According to Engadget, a new development from Sony announces that two titles will update its game and make it adept for play on the new console. The two titles are NACON and KT Racing's "TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2," a motorbike racing game, and a first-person POV high-speed shooter game, "DWVR."
The news was confirmed by both of the title's developers and publishers. French Developer NACON and a representative from the games company recently revealed that it would issue a patch update that would make the "Ride on the Edge 2" playable on the PS5, according to Push Square.
The exciting news from NACON makes a promising development and future of the game on the next-generation console. However, it is still unclear if the developers would issue the reworked version in time for the PS5's November 12 release.
On the other hand, developers of the title, DWVR, announced on Reddit that Mad Triangles, a Spanish studio specializing in virtual reality experiences, is also working on a patch for the game. The developer even insisted that he cannot give any more details about the game's rework.
PS5: 8 Games That CAN'T Be Played on the New Console
According to Extreme Tech, Sony announced a list of the ten games that cannot be played on PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility. Two days ago, the index was ten, but recent developments removed two titles from the list.
Sony previously promised that 99 percent of the PS4 games would be available to run on the PS5 through backwards compatibility. However, it was only recently when Sony revealed the list of the titles that would not develop a patch for the migration to the new consoles.
Here are the titles that would not see PlayStation 5's Backward Compatibility:
- Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume One
- Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
- Joe's Diner
- Just Deal With It!
- Robinson: The Journey
- Shadow Complex Remastered
- Shadwen
- We Sing
PS5's Backward Compatibility
Previously, French video games developer and publisher Ubisoft accidentally leaked information regarding the PlayStation 5 and Sony's limited support for PS4 games. The old news that surfaced saw a limited availability for backwards compatibility of the significant number of games.
After the leak, Sony said it would change and have more titles to feature on the PlayStation 5 despite its original release on the PS4. The list for unavailable games is now down to eight, and there is no telling whether this stops here or will continue to shrink.
