Volkswagen and CEO Hebert Diess is under heavy fire from Twitter users who are saying unpleasant things against the car company, completely contradicting what Diess' says. Volkswagen recently ventured into electric vehicle manufacturing and autonomous driving, the same as American counterpart, Tesla.

Unlike Tesla, Volkswagen is new to the EV industry, transitioning from ICEs or internal combustion engines to the MEB platform or the modular electric drive matrix. With this, Volkswagen has been maximizing improving its technology that can fare well in the public, market, and client's eyes.

Twitter's Condemnation of Hebert Diess and Elon Musk's Rescue

A known technology blogger that mostly focuses on Tesla, SpaceX, and all Elon Musk, Whole Mars Catalog (@WholeMarsBlog) recently tweeted a screenshot of Hebert Diess' LinkedIn profile biography. The blogger tagged Elon Musk in the photo for the CEO to notice.

Here, Whole Mars quoted Diess' bio and correlates it to the famous 1980s rapper, Ice Cube from NWA, who previously said that the "future of music is smooth jazz." The blogger said this in a satirical way, conveying its disbelief to what the VW CEO said.

Another Twitter user, Kyle Kennedy (@bad_at_life), agreed with Whole Mars' statement and further shades the Volkswagen boss. Kennedy said that "Diess is like the lone voice of reason..." which aims to say that Volkswagen tries too much in expressing its innovation but never succeeds.

Elon Musk's Defense

Elon Musk swooped in after Kennedy's tweet, stopping the Volkswagen CEO's on-going bashing. Musk, who previously met the CEO in VW's airport facility in secret, came to his defense and tried to straighten things out.

Tesla's big boss, Elon Musk, said that Hebert Diess "is doing his best to move in the right direction." Musk, having known Diess personally, is rightful to say this and come to his defense. The Tesla co-founder further explained that despite Volkswagen not meeting the public's demands, the company is on the right track.

Elon Musk further explains that not everyone can be pleased, and this directly relates to the controversies surrounding Volkswagen and Hebert Diess that are appearing lately.

Both CEOs are known to have their companies compete against each other, from Volkswagen's ICE and Electric Vehicles, against Tesla, known to produce EVs exclusively. Despite the competition, both CEO maintains a good relationship, evident from Musk's trip to Germany.

It is known that Elon Musk gave the ID.3 a test drive during his visit to VW's airport facility. Here, he regarded that the car handles well, just like the Model Y. The praises were compiled by Hebert Diess and posted on LinkedIn, with the video almost looking like an advertorial for the ID.3 electric vehicle.
