Among Us is now popular across the globe, with many friends and families enjoying the newly emerged game. However, the simple game is also vulnerable to hackers, who can spoil the fun experience.

In any games that build enough popularity, there will always be some players who want to get ahead of others with cheating tools. Hackers not only ruin the game for fair players, but they also spoil the fun for themselves since they are not playing the game as it was originally developed.
The not-so-complicated game is inspired by Mafia. Four to ten players can join the game, and among them are the deceitful "impostors," who kill the "crewmates" one by one, thus giving its name Among Us. Its PC version has an insanely low price of $4.99. On the other hand, the game's mobile version can be enjoyed by anyone for free.
After Among Us dominated Twitch, taking the top place of the most commonly streamed game online, it attracted its own group of hackers. Here are different types of pesky players you need to avoid.
'Among Us' hackers
There are two types of hackers in Among Us that could spoil the game. The first one is those who join public lobbies and use a backchannel to share restricted information that ruins the game's purpose. The impostor's identity is purposely hidden, and the crewmates must identify that player using their detective skills. If one of the dead players blabs can tell who is the impostor to other crewmates, then there's no point in gathering clues.
The second one uses mods to have fast movement ability, insta-kills, mass kills, and curtailed voting periods. One of the most popular cheats allows the host to always become the impostor. A Twitter user under the name "this is poco" posted a video of a hacking tool that resets the kill-cooldown, allowing him to eliminate the crewmates easier.
InnerSloth currently fixing the issue
Innersloth, the developer of Among Us, said that they're currently doing everything they can to fix the problem, although the company has a small team. Forrest Willard, the game developer's co-founder, and programmer, reassured the players that Innersloth is on the case.
"We're rushing to get an account system in place so we can have better moderation and reporting systems built around that. Also getting help with making the servers better at detecting and blocking hacks," he said.
Willard added that their team is now working on an accounting system in conjunction with a server and client-side hack prevention.
