To solve the iPhone and Apple Watch's bugs, Apple's solution is for users to reset the devices.
The Cupertino-giant famous for its minimalist and exclusive technology, Apple, recently rolled out new updates to the iPhone and Apple Watch's operating system, the iOS 14 and watchOS 7. Now, both operating systems face significant bugs that affect the battery health and GPS data of both devices.
Apple has recently been under fire, shortly after it released both operating systems, due to the many problems users have encountered. Operating systems at their debut release are known to have many bugs and unrefined issues by the developer.
The recently released iOS 14 and watchOS 7 are testimonies and evidence that as the buggy operating systems cause the iPhone to have its battery drained faster than usual and heat-up, while Apple Watches are facing a lost GPS data for navigation, according to Mac Rumors.
Apple recently released the iOS 14.0.1 version for some bug fixes and several application developer's needs. However, the update did not seem to do the trick regarding a single charge's battery life on an iPhone. The same goes for the watchOS 7 as it still reports a faulty GPS that is lost when navigating.
Apple's Advice: Restore iPhone and Apple Watch
Apple recently uploaded a support document entitled, If you're missing Workout GPS routes or Health data after updating to iOS 14 and watchOS 7. This document now aims to address Apple device users' ensuing problems with the iPhone and Apple Watch.
Apple created a checklist to see if the upgrade's bugs and problems afflict users' devices. If your device has two or more issues from the list below, it is essential to follow the 'Restore iPhone' method.
- Your workout route maps are missing in the Fitness app on iPhone for previous GPS-enabled workouts from your Apple Watch.
- The Activity, Heart Rate, or other health-related apps fail to launch or load data on your Apple Watch.
- The Fitness app or Health app fail to launch or load data on your iPhone.
- The Health app or Fitness app is reporting an inaccurate amount of data storage on your iPhone.
- The Activity app is reporting an inaccurate amount of data storage on your Apple Watch.
- Your environmental sound levels data or headphone audio levels data from Apple Watch is missing in the Health app on iPhone.
- Increased battery drain on your iPhone or Apple Watch.
Apple: Here's How To Back-up Data and Restore iPhone and Apple Watch
Unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap the My Watch tab, then tap All Watches.
- Tap the info button next to the watch you want to unpair.
- Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
Verify iCloud settings and create a backup
- On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
- Tap your name, then tap iCloud.
- Verify that Health is turned on, or tap to turn it on.
- Tap iCloud Backup.
- Verify that iCloud Backup is turned on, or tap to turn it on.
- Tap Back Up Now to create a backup and wait for it to complete.
Erase all content and settings from your iPhone

Restore your iPhone and Apple Watch from backup
