Pokemon GO's five star Raid Battles are far more difficult since Heatran, the Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon, returns to the game. However, players can only encounter the creature for a limited time.
As a five-star Raid boss, the Lava Dome Pokemon's return will be your first chance to capture it since January. Here are some tips that will help you defeat Heatran and put it in your Poke-ball.

Heatran's appearance in the game will last until Sept. 10 at gyms across the globe. Players are required to have Raid Pass before they can battle.
There are two ways you can do to obtain the pass. First, you'll have to spin the Photo Disc at PokeStop to receive it for free. Second, you can simply purchase it in Pokemon GO's in-game store to save you the hassle. But, your inventory will only allow you to hold one free Raid Pass at a time, so you must use it carefully if ever you receive one for free.
Pokemon Types that Heatran is weak against
Players can enter Heatran Raids any time they want. However, the best time would be on Sept. 2, Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM local time, during Niantic's weekly Raid Hour events hosting. Most gyms will host a Heatran Raid during that day.
Players can guarantee that they'll be able to find a Heatran during that time. Aug. 26, Sept. 2, and 9 are the dates that Heatran Raid Hour events will occur.
Heatran is weak when it encounters Ground-type Pokemon because it is a dual Fire/Steel type. Rhyperior, Groudon, and Garchomp are strong against the Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon. Fighting and Water-type Pokemons such as Swampert, Kyogre, and Machamp are also good choices to tag along.
On the other hand, it is highly suggested to avoid using Psychic, and Dragon-type Pokemons since Heatran can resist both because of its Steel ability.
