Is this Really Elon Musk’s Personal Tesla Model S with a ‘Deep Crimson’ Paint Color?

A photo of what seems like a Tesla Model S with a special color is circulating online. It was first shared by Ryan McCaffrey, an executive editor at Previews at IGN on Twitter. The EV was reportedly seen in the executive parking lot of SpaceX's headquarters:

People were quick to speculate that it was the personal Model S of Elon Musk with the prototype color that Tesla said is developing on with the announcement of a new paint shop.

Since last year, the Tesla CEO has been bragging about the EV car manufacturing's plan to build a new paint shop at Gigafactory Berlin and new multi-layered paints.

"Giga Berlin will have world's most advanced paint shop, with more layers of stunning colors that subtly change with curvature."

In particular, Musk has talked about his favorite feature a new 'deep crimson red'.

An article by Elektrek noted about Musk confirming that it is a "prototype of the color" that Tesla is currently working on for the new paint shop.

The publication nonetheless said that the picture shared on Twitter is not giving us a great look at the color since they are taken in the shade. It went on saying that it is similar to Tesla's "signature red" only that it looks a bit darker.

It also cautioned that color might change with the light as Musk has also said before.

Some people commenting on the post also jokingly said that the color is more like an 'eggplant's'.

Twitter user Adam said, "Looks eggplant to me, not so much crimson red imo'

Another user by the name Cantabile Gloria commented "Probably crimson red is still present but eggplant shade seems to be dominant which is really cool!Purple heart Violet can be associated with the future! Violet is a magical colour."
