LOOK: Samsung Galaxy Watch 3's First Photos Revealed

The Samsung Galaxy Watch series is a well-loved product from the brand, which is why there are several times photos of the upcoming product to be launched are being leaked, perhaps out of excitement.

Photos of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, the toughest rival of the Apple Watch 6, have leaked, and fans noticed that the visuals do not veer away from the Apple Watch generations. This new Galaxy Watch looks very familiar to the avid Samsung users.

Alan Martin wrote on T3, "The design appeared on South Korea's NRRA certification site, where MySmartPrice promptly spotted it. Given these pictures are for certification rather than marketing, they're not exactly the most glamorous of product shots, but they still give us plenty to go on."

Features

The visuals are stunning, but what about the features? The best news is that the Galaxy Watch 3 keeps its rotating bezel for user navigation, with the two physical buttons. People who have worn the original unit know that this is advantageous, and offers more precision than tapping the small touchscreen.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, the most recent of the watches, also has the actual bezel, replicating the features with the touch-sensitive system right on the edges.

"Speaking of the Galaxy Watch Active 2, its existence is presumably why this upcoming device will be called the Galaxy Watch 3, even though there has been no second generation to speak of. Samsung evidently wants to make it clear to everyone that this is the latest and greatest," Martin added in the report.

More details unveiled

What else do we know so far about the wearable? It comes in two different sizes, particularly the 1.2-inch and the 1.4-inch watches. These have the 247 mAh and 340 mAh batteries, depending on what you prefer. Otherwise, these versions will generally be the same as the GPS, water resistance, and heart-rate sensing features. The water resistance is reaching 50 meters.

It is also very likely to adopt the ECG introduced alongside the Galaxy Watch Active 2, though this adoption was tagged "patchy" because of local regulation in the medical field.

Samsung is expected to reveal more details about their products since there will be another Unpacked event this August. The Galaxy Watch 3 will be launched by then, alongside Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

According to GSM Arena, Note 20 will feature a flat display with 1080p resolution and only a refresh rate of 60Hz. Given that this entire Galaxy S20 series utilizes a 120Hz refresh rate, the inferior display on Note 20 seems like a way for the company to prompt customers to choose higher-end units.

The company featured a similar take with their Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. The usual Note 10 featured a smaller battery, tinier display, but with FHD+ resolution and less camera features than the Note 10+. Samsung is also trying to control competition as it urges buyers to choose one over the other device.
