On Thursday, June 11, the famous racing game of America, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), will be making a tremendous change in its game.

Starting today and the next games, the competition will no longer wave the 'Confederate' flag on each of its games.

NASCAR said that the flag strips the competition's main goal of welcoming all the races in the game.

"The presence of the confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry," said on the statement." The display of the confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties."

What does 'Confederate' flag represent

According to ADL-- the leading anti-hate organization in the country, 'Confederate' flag's removal from the game has been one of the long-time debates of history. Within 1860-61, Southern states seceded from the U.S. to protect the creation of slavery against dark-colored people and Nazis.

Organizations recognized the flag as the 'rebel flag.' However, in the 20th and 21st centuries, the flag has been represented as the 'white supremacy' flag, not only in the country but worldwide.

A day earlier, before the removal of the flag, one of NASCAR's drivers and the only Black player on the competition held a 'Black Lives Matter' protest.Using his racecar, filled with peace and 'stop racial discrimination', Bubba Wallace, 26, drove his car as a sign of protest against the waving of the said flag.

"This statement that we have right here -- running this race car, being on live television -- I think it's going to speak volumes for what I stand for, but also what the initiative that NASCAR, the whole sport, is trying to push," he said in a video for RPM on Twitter.

After this protest, lots of other personalities praised Wallace for his bravery amid BLM protests around the country, even NBA player Lebron James.

For now, the White House has not yet commented on the issue.
