Have you watched the latest release tech demo video of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5? If that looks freaking awesome for you, here's another good news. Epic Games announces that the next release games made by the game engine will run not just on the next-gen console, but on Nintendo Switch also!
Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 releases tech demo
Nintendo Switch was only released in 2017, which that means compared to other giant gaming consoles Sony or Microsoft, the device is still in its early phase.
Despite that, Epic Games announces that Switch will be one of its compatible gaming consoles. As reported via BGR, all available nine platforms in the gaming industry, including Switch, will run the gaming engine.
"To maintain backward compatibility, we have this pipeline where you import or build all content. And at the highest level of cinematic quality executed directly on next-gen consoles," said Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. "When Fortnite changes and runs on Unreal Engine 5 later this year, we will continue to support all nine platforms. Well, nine, when the two new ones are added."
That means if you want to play the games brought by Unreal Engine 5, gaming platforms from Android, iOS, up to PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch are the things you only need.
BGR also noted that Nintendo Switch will gain a lot of more users once the newest gaming engine released its game and be played with the console.
Are we going to see another success from the platform aside from its reigning super-famous Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
