The 2014 International CES will not just be about technology but the event will also be star-studded with Hollywood stars, popular musicians, sports legends and TV personalities converging at the technolog fest..
The International CES is one of the most prestigious technology events of the year. This year the CES will start from January 7 and run through January 10 in Las Vegas. Many big technology companies such as LG, Samsung, Lenovo, Intel and more many will be displaying their latest and upcoming technologies at the event.
Famous celebrities will also be promoting products and technologies at the event. Maria Menounos, an innovative television host, journalist and author, will serve as the Entertainment Matters Ambassador for the Entertainment Matters at CES program. Entertainment Matters is a content-focused CES program, which has been developed for Hollywood's film, television and digital communities.
"New for the 2014 CES, Variety's Breakthrough of the Year Awards will celebrate a diverse range of talent from the fields of film, television, music, comedy and more at this premiere red carpet event," per a statement released by CES.
Actor, comedian, rapper and radio/TV personality Nick Cannon, who is well-known for hosting "America's Got Talent," will host the Variety's Breakthrough of the Year Awards at the CES.
At the awards, Olivia Munn, who starred in "Iron Man 2," will be honored as the Breakthrough Actress. Janelle Monae, a performer, songwriter and producer debuted her full-length album "The ArchAndroid" in 2010 will be honored as Breakthrough Music Artist. The awards function at the CES will also see a number of other celebrities.
Grammy award winning singer, songwriter, producer and much admired fashion designer Pharrell Williams will sign autographs and talk to fans from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8 at the Liquipel booth (LVCC, South Hall 4, #36067). Williams will be promoting the company's new Liquipel 360 program.
Entrepreneur, rapper, investor and actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will make also make an appearance at the event. He will sign autographs from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 8, at the SMS Audio booth (LVCC, South Hall 1, #21313).
Music idol Bob Marley's sons, Rohan Marley and Ky-mani Marley, will attend this year's CES with House of Marley. Rohan will be available for interviews at the House of Marley booth (LVCC, Central Hall, #15273) throughout the show, while Ky-mani will perform at the House of Marley booth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8.
Magnus Carlsen, world chess champion, will play chess in public at the event for the first time since winning the championship in Chennai, India in November 2013. As part of the Nordic Semiconductor team, Carlsen is expected to play with 20 amateur chess players from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday January 9 in LVCC South Hall Connector room S228.
Seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry will also make his appearance at ZTE's booth (LVCC, South Hall 3, #31431) from 11 a.m.to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 8.
