Fallout 76 Wastelands: The Update You Need And How To Get it For Free

After the monumental failure at launch for Fallout 76, it has not been easy, to say the least, to entice players to come to give the game another shot, especially with so many promises given, but none were delivered. With its upcoming update, Fallout 76 Wastelanders or Fallout 76 2.0, as some call it, it just might entice you to come back. Emphasis on the word MIGHT.

Fallout 76 Wastelanders, What Does it Bring?

Wastelanders, promises a complete game-wide improvement and non-player characters that are very much missing from the first wasteland adventure. You can either do two things to start with, begin from the vault once again, or travel back to Vault 76 using your current character for several reasons. Reasons being, a ton of Charisma, Strength, and Intelligence dialogue options right off the bat. All of which will be closed off to you in the earlier parts of the level.

The world seems more populated now than it was ever before. More NPC's show up and give you a sense of what else to look forward too, same as the original Fallout games. NPC's are more memorable now and make sure you invest in time with their conversation as well as the world itself.

When you go out with your friends in raids and dungeons, and cutscenes pop up, they now use dynamic camera angles to show that it is just you, and your party with a good design inkling to how Star Wars: The Old Republic does it.

Current State of The Game

Although there have been some minor improvements to the game, don't expect that it will help you enjoy the post-apocalyptic world that is in Fallout 76. Many bugs and glitches are still present and have not been fixed yet, hopefully, in the next update Wastelanders, it will all go away. However, given the reputation of Bethesda after the disgrace that is Fallout 76, please take it with a grain of salt.

Fallout 76 Owners Get it For Free in Steam?

This is one good news, and let's give credit where credit is due. Bethesda previously reported that in their FAQ section that you have to either buy from Steam or Bethesda's dedicated launcher. Now, however, you can get it for free.

This was announced just last Thursday that they have a special offer for all Fallout 76's owners and will be applicable until it hits Steam on Apr. 14.

"All you have to do to get your free Steam copy of Fallout 76 is go here and link your Steam account to your Bethesda.net account before 11:59 p.m. ET, Apr. 12," Bethesda said. "When the Steam version is available, you will automatically receive your Fallout 76 entitlement."
