Game Publishers are Encouraging People to Stay at Home
Previously, Square Enix also had two free games made available for PC gamers via Steam and Square Enix store, including Tomb Raider and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, which were available for a few days, according to The Gamer.
Besides Square Enix, a few other publishers are having online sales and providing free games temporarily to encourage people, especially young kids, to stay at home during the mass quarantines and lockdowns happening around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Additionally, the pandemic has also caused a sales spike for various Nintendo Switch exclusive games, especially in China.
Among the exclusives that increased in sales was the Ring Fit Adventure, which was an exercise game and has shipped over 2 million sales and is still going strong.
Delayed Titles
Nevertheless, a few games that are up and coming are delayed due to the pandemic, including Square Enix's highly-anticipated game, Final Fantasy VII Remake--although only the physical copies will be delayed.
But the digital copies are still on their way, as per Screen Rant.
