Mass on Social Media: Pope Francis Livestreams Mass Telling Priests to Meet Coronavirus Patients!

No one other than Pope Francis himself has held a livestream mass on Tuesday, Mar. 10. During the livestream mass, he urged catholic priests to find the courage to visit all of the victims of the coronavirus or Covid-19 amid Italy's national lockdown.

Amid Italy's national lockdown, the Pope has provided hope to the people by assuring them that everything will be fine. The act of conducting a mass over livestream could result in a disappointment to followers as the sight of the Pope himself would have brought them hope!

The Pope led a solemn prayer to urge the priests to tend to the sick

In the prayer led by Pope Francis, he urged priests to summon the courage to go out and tend to the sick by the strength of God's word as well as the Eucharist. The accompaniment of the health workers as well as the volunteers was also a top priority of this prayer. In his prayer, he acknowledged the efforts of everyone trying to do their part in the fight against this virus.

The square was filled with emptiness

St. Peter's Square, which was usually full during masses, was left almost completely empty with a few dozen people here or there strolling around even without masks. The whole nation has been on self-quarantine, which limits their attendance to these kinds of gatherings. It is clear that panic has already spread, and the best thing that the citizens of Italy can do is to fend for themselves by means of self-quarantine, making sure that they are not positive about this virus.

The complete participation of this nation is necessary in fighting this virus

The Italian government itself has made restrictions regarding the move of its civilians to help avoid the risk of infection. The Covid-19 has started to spread like wildfire through Italy. As of Tuesday, there are already 9,000 diagnosed positive with the coronavirus or Covid-19. This number is quite big for a country that has just recently been infiltrated by the virus! Out of the 60 million inhabitants, the 9,000 infected should not seem too big, but if you factor in the infection rate, you will understand why this has become a real problem.

The priests are still free to move in times of trouble

The church is highly respected in times of darkness, and if there are anybody aside medical professionals that can attend to this coronavirus or Covid-19, it would be the church itself! The Pope has blessed the priests and has tasked them to summon the courage to fight the deadly coronavirus or Covid-19 by extending the churches' prayers personally to the victims.
