Square Enix has recently launched the long-rumored Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo on the official PlayStation Store.

A demo for the Remake was available through the PlayStation Store back in December 2019. While the game was not announced publicly, the demo was thoroughly data mined. Neither Sony nor Square Enix officially commented on the release of the demo; however, the reputable demo is already available to the public for download.

The demo weighs in at 7.59GB and should provide around 1 hour of playtime. Final Fantasy VII Remake is expected to be available between Mar. 3 and Apr. 10. The highly-anticipated Remake is exclusive for PlayStation 4 for one year.

Japan's favorite Final Fantasy game remains to be pretty surprising

The Final Fantasy franchise has delighted gamers across the globe since 1987. With a plethora of video games and spin-offs released during the last 30 years, everybody is sure to have a favorite game in the franchise. Japanese gamers were recently polled about their preferred game in the franchise. The top pick will likely come as a big surprise to a lot of long-time fans.

According to the poll, Final Fantasy X is the most cherished game in the franchise. Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy VI, rounded out the rest of the top three.

Of course, Final Fantasy X's reputation is well-documented. The game launched to rave reviews. Fans appeared to love the arena inhabited through Tidus and Yuna a lot that Square launched an immediate sequel just years later, a first for the franchise.

While Final Fantasy VII won't have taken the peak spot, Cloud Strife did take home the identity of favored Final Fantasy person. Since performing in the sport lower back in 1997, Cloud has emerged as the closest thing the collection has to a mascot (aside from Chocobo, at least). Cloud even represents the franchise in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series. Cloud's placement on the listing become followed with the aid of the aforementioned Yuna at the top two, even as Cloud's doomed co-megastar Aerith took the top three spots.

The survey was conducted with the aid of Japan's countrywide broadcasting organization, NHK. Notably, the study blanketed 30 video games for voters to select from, and 75 characters, in total. More than 468,000 people participated in the poll. Those 30 games covered several spin-offs. While numbered franchise entries took the top 10 spots on the listing, the first access in the Final Fantasy Tactics spin-off collection placed at number 11.

It might be interesting to peer how similar polls could flip out in different regions. It seems probably Cloud could remain in the top spot on the favorite characters in North America and Europe. However, a separate collection entry could take home the pinnacle spot. It's hard to imagine any game apart from Final Fantasy VII, yet Final Fantasy VI has a wide variety of supporters, too.
