Kojima Productions can be teasing its next game, following the release of Death Stranding in 2019. While there is no concrete information yet, fans pointed out signs hinting that it could be Silent Hill.
Silent Hill publishers gave hints on Twitter
The official Kojima Productions Twitter account recently tweeted a picture of the head of communications, Aki Saito, scribbling on a post-it note. Other Twitter users have been short of pointing out some apparent clues in the tweet that factor in the direction of Silent Hill.
First off, the tweet uses the word "silent." Saito is seen using a Pyramid branded pencil, in a presumptuous nod to Silent Hill's most notable monster, Pyramid Head.
As for what's written at the notepad, it merely says, "Next week!" Could we be in keep for some Silent Hills information next week? Or perhaps this whole thing is only a red herring to cover what Kojima Productions honestly has up its sleeve.
More clues, please?
There are some more clues, however. Kojima has a history of teasing players in creative ways. The director, just recently, released a trailer for what deemed to be new Death Stranding content. Fans, on a closer review, found out that the trailer looks like the Oscar-winning film 1917, leaving players bothered as to whether or not or the announcement is real.
Late last year, the Hideo Kojima himself tweeted out a picture saying, "Working on the next idea while no person is in the office." The post, of course, led to Twitter users zeroing in at the truth Kojima is working by himself in a silent office - not to say the hill displayed on one of his monitors.
The Metal Gear Solid author also name-dropped P.T. In his other tweet, he explained that he watched the Thai horror film The Eye when making the Silent Hills teaser and that he's doing so again to "wake up my horror soul."
The game designer famously worked on P.T., an interactive demo for Silent Hills. Despite praises from fans, the horror game was canceled by Konami and eliminated from the PlayStation Store. Kojima parted ways with Konami immediately after.
Another interesting tweet that could fuel the fires of theories comes from Masahiro Ito, an artist that has worked on the collection and was critical to the creation of iconic monsters. He tweeted "Pyramid Head R.I.P." The tweet is not much on its own, but in 2017, he also tweeted, "If I have to make a new Silent Hill, I would no longer use Pyramid Head or kill him in its opening."
The reality complicates any return to Silent Hill Konami but owns the rights to the franchise. Nonetheless, stranger things have happened.
It's uncertain, however, if Kojima Productions can create a Silent Hill game. Speaking of which, Konami owns the rights to the franchise and is actively seeking fan remarks about the series. Details about Kojima Productions' next project, regardless of what is happening, are coming soon.
