What seemed to be a normal day in Stratford, Oklahoma, could have turned into quite a regrettable event if it was not for a simple device that saved a certain teen's life. Apple Watch has recently been in a legal dispute with Fitbit as Fitbit claims that Apple has stolen their ideas without proper permission and the case is complicated now that Apple Watch has been able to save lives.
The teen reportedly had the Apple Watch on and it suddenly notified him that his heart rate was at 190, and luckily for him, he was able to contact his mother right away. People do not know that this protective measure did not originate from Apple. Fitbit was the mind behind this technology.
Skylar Joslin would have met an unfortunate fate if his Apple Watch did not give him a proper notification about the irregularities he was experiencing. With a sudden increase in heart rate, Skylar was lucky to be notified before the situation escalated even more. The moment Skylar got this alarming notification, he contacted his mother right away, and they rushed to the hospital. His heart rate was rising even more to an alarming 280 in the middle of the night and his cardiologist has confirmed how lucky he was to be treated just in time for this.
The Apple Watch had the perfect timing
Skylar was in class when he got a notification on his Apple Watch and immediately knew something was wrong. A text message was then sent to him, indicating that his heart rate reached 190. He then took a screenshot and sent it to his mom, who took immediate action to rush Skylar to the hospital. Luck was able to save Skylar, and this has definitely been contributed by the fact that Skylar was wearing an Apple Watch.

Further findings found Skylar with a condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia
The condition Skylar was diagnosed with was Supraventricular Tachycardia, which is said to cause a rapid increase of heartbeat and is known to weaken the heart over a period of time. The surgery lasted for about eight hours in hopes of completely fixing the problem. Skylar, as well as his hopes up that he may continue his strong passion for football once his condition has improved.
Skylar was able to get back to his passion but now with strict observation
In the following months, Skylar was able to work his way back to the field slowly and with more precaution. Apple Watch saves lives, and Skylar is making sure to keep his Apple Watch regularly monitor his heart rate in case of sudden abnormalities in his heart rate. A close monitor of his heart rate allows him to enjoy football but with an Apple Watch always in hand.
