It's got to be tough to be a politician from one state with a favorite sports team in another. After all, there are expectations of loyalty once someone steps into office. There's no way around it; you represent your home team or people will turn on you. Then again, if people have already turned on you time and time again, maybe celebrating a rival team's victory won't make much of a difference in the long run.
Chris Christie is far from the most popular politician in the country, but following last night's Dallas playoff victory over the Detroit Lions, he may just become the most hated. Just take a look at Christie celebrating in the private suite of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, the scourge of Giants fans:
Unfortunately for Christie, ol' Jerry leaves him hanging a bit there, but he's eventually invited into the group bro hug. Christie himself declared that the Giants were a New Jersey team a few years back, so what is he doing in their top rival's suite? Maybe a six-foot party sub was involved in some way; we're just not sure. Even worse, Christie was already spotted celebrating with the Giants following their Superbowl victory a few years back:
That being said, Christie definitely shouldn't let his brother do the talking, as evidenced by Todd Christie's latest Facebook post:
"To all of those non Cowboy fans who have their panties in a ringer because the Governor of NJ is a Cowboys fan---GET A LIFE !!! The Gov has been a Cowboys fan for his entire life and ALL of you would sit with the owner of your favorite team in a heartbeat if given the chance. I'm a Giants fan---we are sitting home for the fourth straight year. Eagles fans---possibly you should worry more about the fact that your sorry ass team has never won a Super Bowl and less about who's rooting for which team. I mean crazy pathetic posts. And for every calorically challenged FB person who posts about the Gov's weight--forget the magic mirror and look at yourself. Weight posts---really?"
It's almost as if Christie is deliberately trying to get as many people as possible to hate him, which is the usual first step before a presidential run. Who knows how bad it'll get if the Cowboys actually manage to get to the Superbowl...
