Skyworth Background
Skyworth is one of the biggest television producers in the world that has yet to make a large impact on the US market. Partnered with LG for their OLED Displays, they make high-end televisions that push the limits of display technologies. According to a China Daily report, they dominate the Chinese OLED market with 46 percent of OLED sales in the Chinese Market in 2017, with LG and Sony at 16 and 14.9 percent, respectively.
Already, Skyworth has announced that they will be releasing new TVs at CES 2020. And our predictions on CES 2020 being dominated by quite literally, screens, screens, and more screens, is already coming true.
Crazy Sharp Displays and SWAIOT
Last year, during CES 2019, showcased their 88-inch TV with a stunning 8K resolution. This might sound familiar to you, as LG released its own 88-inch TV with the same 8k resolution. This was not surprising as Skyworth obtains their OLED panels from LG. What sets Skyworth apart, you might ask?Skyworth TVs and all of their hardware, are part of an open AI-powered IoT ecosystem called Swaiot. Combining AI and IoT together is an amazing technology as much as it is a corny pun. The Swaiot system is designed to connect your entire smart home through a central hub that is your TV. All of this will be powered by Skyworth's own AI assistant, TrensAI. With the combination of 5G technology, Artificial Intelligence, Skyworth plans to create a complete ecosystem of smart, connected devices to create a new generation smart home.
Skyworth TrensAI Powered Smart Home
TrensAI will not just be powering Skyworth TVs, Skyworth has been producing household appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators that all integrate seamlessly. This doesn't mean, however, that you're going to be locked into the SWAIOT system, as Skyworth devices also work with your Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa smart home devices, something that Skyworth won the "AI Smart Dual Ecosystem TV Experience Gold Award" for last CES 2019. So you won't have to replace your Google Home or Amazon Echo any time soon.
CES 2020
So what should you be expecting for CES 2020? So far, we're expecting Skyworth to launch its latest products to complete the Swaiot system globally. Finally, they're going to be having their first actual US Press conference this January 5, 2020, at Belmont Ballroom 4, 4th Floor of The Cosmopolitan Hotel. This being their first encounter with the US media, we expect big things from Skyworth.
