Last week, Athlon Games published a press release regarding the Batman: The Telltale Series. The PR post announced the revamp of "noir-style," plus the upcoming new DLC. Fans become confused after the press release was suddenly removed.
That left many Batman fans to think whether the game will come or not?
A Darker Batman
According to ComicBook, the press release has confirmed that the new game will include the Batman: The Telltale Series and new downloadable content available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, the Epic Games Store, and Steam.
The base game and the DLC will be collectively called The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition--just as what the rumors, speculations, and leaks have said prior to the announcement.
Most are excited about the DLC, known as "The Shadows Mode," which is a revamped Batman: The Telltale Series in a "noir-style visual makeover and graphical upgrade."
For those who already have the base game, the DLC will be available for $4.99, but you can also get the game for $29.99.
A Now-Deleted Announcement
But here's the confusing part, it seems as though the press release itself was a leak of some kind, as it was dated for Dec. 5, and yet was only released last week--only to be then removed by Athlon Games.
The announcement was published on their site, and now the link leads to a 404 error, plus the now-deleted press release also said that the game and the brand-new DLC should be live by now, but checking at the listings on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, the game is yet to be released.
Is the Game and DLC Arriving?
So, is The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition really arriving?
For those who have been waiting for the game and "The Shadows Mode," the game and the DLC are true and will be coming soon--although we're still unsure as to when that will be.
"We're excited to be able to build and continue the legacy of an iconic Telltale Games franchise by launching The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition today," CEO of Telltale Games Jamie Ottilie said in the press release, via Gematsu.
He also added that this is only the beginning and that they are planning on expanding their catalog of Telltale Games titles, which we will likely hear about in the coming months.
Ottilie and Brian Waddle will be the heads of the new Telltale Games after it was bought by LCG Entertainment, as reported by Polygon back in August.

As for the press release itself, it could either be a leak of some form or perhaps certain details were wrong, and Athlon Games had to delete it before causing even more mayhem.
Either way, it's highly possible we'll get the official announcement from Athlon Games and Telltale Games soon enough.
As per Bloody Disgusting, Batman: The Telltale Series takes a different approach to Bruce Wayne's superhero alter-ego and focuses more on his fractured psyche in this dark and violent story, wherein choices can alter your destiny as the Dark Knight.
