Players Discover Crazy 'Overwatch' Glitches

Overwatch had its latest update earlier this week for its Winter Wonderland event, but players have discovered more than just new Epic and Legendary skins or snowy vistas—they also discovered a couple of glitches pertaining to Mei and Lucio.

Everybody Flies

According to a report by Kotaku, Overwatch players discovered a glitch that let everybody fly, Pharah-style, caused by Mei's ice wall ability.

Apparently, the glitch occurs when Mei uses her ice wall ability on the ramp at the starting point of most maps.

Once Mei casts an ice wall at the ramp, the heroes can climb on the very top and wait for the ice wall to break, then they'll be sent into the air and fly around like Pharah—all the while looking funny and contorted.

The World is Tilted

It looks amusing when your teammate gets mutated into a flying mess, but if you're unfortunate enough to climb that wall as it broke apart, your hero will tilt to one side, which could significantly affect your perspective and ruin your game.

At least you get to fly around and maybe use that to your advantage.

The crazy glitch has garnered some attention from many Overwatch players, especially when popular Twitch streamers like Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar happened to experience the cursed Mei glitch.

Betar was using Reinhardt during the stream, and it showed that not only did it affect his perspective and appearance, the glitch also seemed to affect Reinhardt's abilities as his hero's shield was tilted as well as Mei's walls.

Nonetheless, Dot Esports noted that Blizzard had addressed the issue, and they are already working on a fix for it, which will likely roll out in the next patch.

Blizzard's lead software engineer, William Warnecke, has issued his apologies to the players on behalf of the Overwatch team, but also said that "hopefully you're having some fun with it too."

The Lucio Bug

But Mei isn't the only character that has recently caused a glitch, as a Twitch streamer named PVPx has discovered a bug causing Lucio to become immune to Junkrat's steel trap seemingly.

According to Dexerto, Lucio becomes invulnerable to the steel trap if he uses his speed boost and jumps at the right time, plus the hero can also destroy the trap once he goes through it, making it safer for his teammates to go through the path.

Nevertheless, it's still a tricky glitch to be useful as you need to know the right timing to use his speed boost and jump—otherwise it won't work.

Additionally, it seems like Blizzard will also fix this glitch in a future update just like with Mei's issue.

Winter Wonderland 2019

Meanwhile, Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event is currently live, allowing you to get three Epic skins for Mercy, Moira, and Soldier 76, and four Legendary skins for Sigma, McCree, Doomfist, and Reaper.

You can also get loot boxes, as well as new game modes to enjoy, including the Mei Snowball Deathmatch.

The holiday-themed event will run through until January 2, 2020 and is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch versions of the game.
