The CW's The Flash has finally concluded its Bloodwork arc in a two-part mid-season finale episodes, entitled "The Last Temptation of Barry Allen," which had its first part last week that ended in a cliffhanger and finally continued to the episode that aired last Tuesday, Dec. 3.
According to ScreenRant, the latest episode of The Flash season 6 is dubbed as one of the show's best—and there's no surprise as to why its fans think so.
The episode shows the perfect combination of The Flash action we've witnessed since season 1 and horror—with the blood zombies running rampant.
Episode Recap
During last week's episode and part one of The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, we have seen Barry turn into the Dark Flash, infected by Ramsey Russo's sentient infection.
Picking up from that, the second part continues with Cisco taking over the STAR Labs and trying to put a force field around the lab, in hopes that a photon emitter can free Ramsey of the blood infection, and ultimately saving his "Blood Brothers and Sister."
Meanwhile, Iris tries her best to reach out to her husband, believing Barry is still in control, only to discover Dark Flash has a complete hold over the hero.
Throughout the episode, we see Team Flash find themselves in jeopardy, running away from the blood zombies.
One of the audience's favorites from the entire The Flash mid-season finale episode is the scene where Cecille and Kamilla have to escape from their building, all the while trying to avoid the zombies.
The fun camera work and lighting seem to have been made for zombie fans, making the scene look like it was taken with just one shot, as per AV Club.
We can also see Nash Wells cornered by blood zombies in a sewer underneath the city while trying to break into The Monitor's stronghold, and as the episode ended, gaining entrance and possibly becoming the Pariah, as predicted by Bleeding Cool.
If that seemed familiar, that's because it had the same scene with the end of Batwoman's episode this week.
In the end, it was Allegra's UV blast that was able to help Barry get free from the infection and ultimately turned Ramsay into the ultimate blood monster.
The Arrowverse Ultimate Crossover
Bloodwork's arc was rather short-lived, especially compared to the past villains the show had, but the entire arc brought freshness to the series, and the mixture of action and horror was something fans have totally loved.
Although this week's The Flash episode was the official mid-season finale, there will be an episode next week—technically that of the show, but one meant for Crisis on Infinite Earths.
