After the success of Capcom's Resident Evil 2 Remake, the studio is allegedly working on a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake and is slated to be released in 2020.
A Possible Remake
Resident Evil 2 Remake was released in January 2019—over two years after it first came out for PlayStation3—and has been received well by the fans of the franchise.
In its first week, the remake has already sold over 3 million copies across PS4, Xbox One, and PC, according to IGN.
Since Resident Evil 2 producer Yoshiaki Hibarashi previously said that if fans "voice their enthusiasm," Capcom would love to continue making more of these Resident Evil remakes, and with the hype and support their first remake acquired, it is highly possible we can see another remake coming.
The news was first reported by YouTube channel Spawn Wave and was soon picked up by various gaming news outlets such as VGC, who said they had received news matching the rumors from different other sources.
According to Eurogamer, they have heard about the possibility of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis as well, and that it has actually been in development for quite some time—possibly, why we are expecting a launch to happen soon.
If it is indeed happening, Resident Evil 3 Remake will be launching 21 years after its original release for PlayStation, the same with Resident Evil 2.
Slated for 2020
Resident Evil 3 follows well-loved heroine Jill Valentine from the first-ever Resident Evil title, as she escapes zombie-infested Raccoon City after the outbreak.
Fans will also remember the iconic villain from the game, the Nemesis, who is Umbrella Corporations, a new biological weapon that is hunting down Jill and the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members.
If the remake is happening, we're all curious to see how terrifying the Nemesis is in high-quality graphics and experience the terror of facing off with this faster and super strong enemy.
Although there isn't much information leaked, if the 2020 release is to be believed, it is possible that Capcom will come out with an announcement in the following months.
Working on Project Resistance
However, Capcom is still trying to bring the spotlight to their multiplayer spin-off title, Project Resistance, which has entered its beta phase in October, so it could be the very reason why we haven't heard of Resident Evil 3 Remake announcement even with the year coming to an end soon.
Project Resistance was a surprise from Capcom that was revealed earlier this year and is pretty much still in development, so there are still things that can change before it is finally released for the public.

According to a report by Windows Central, Capcom is working to achieve a 4K resolution on Xbox One X.
So far, critics are saying that the new Resident Evil spin-off looks interesting, especially with the kind of multiplayer experience that we don't see often.
Meanwhile, Capcom has not commented on the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake rumor as of now, so do take the story with a grain of salt until further announcement from Capcom.
