'Borderlands 3' First Campaign DLC Coming Next Month, Here's Everything we Know

Gearbox has finally announced the first-ever paid DLC for Borderlands 3 recently, after teasing it last week, and will roll out on Dec. 19.

The Handsome Jackpot Heist

The DLC, known as "Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot," will feature Handsome Jack, the Hyperion CEO, and his casino.

Before Handsome Jack died, he was able to finish building the Handsome Jackpot, which is a casino space station, and it seemed like it's still flourishing--and it's the player's chance to raid it in the upcoming downloadable content, along with Moxxi's team of "experts" she has assembled.

Of course, it won't be a Borderlands content without mayhem.

Get New Legendary Loot!

Before you can reach the casino and the vault of wonderful rewards, you first need to battle the Hyperion security force as well as crazed casino-goers until you reach the safe that includes cash, Eridium, and new Legendary loot.

There will also be new skins and heads, crew challenges, and side missions to complete with the DLC.

According to Forbes, this Borderlands 3 add-on will also mark the return of the Hyperion Loader Bots, which are present in Borderlands 2.

However, it's still unsure whether fans will get to see Handsome Jack himself, either by AI or voicework from old holograms in his casino.

Additionally, GameSpot has noted that in order to access Moxxi's Heist, players need to have at last reached Sanctuary III, which is unlocked after you have completed the opening campaign chapters of Pandora, plus you should at least be level 13.

Nonetheless, enemies will be scaled to your level if you chose a vault hunter with a higher level.

More DLCs Coming

This DLC is included in Borderland 3's $49.99 premium DLC season pass--with three more new campaigns coming out next year--as well as in the Borderlands 3's $99.99 Super Deluxe edition, as per Polygon.

Besides Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, Gearbox is also teasing the launch of the Maliwan Takedown that will arrive with a Mayhem 4 difficulty, as well as 300 available slots of vault space, and bosses with specific loot pools.

However, the studio is yet to release an exact date as to when it will drop.

Free Weekend

Meanwhile, Borderlands 3 will be free to play this weekend on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, starting this Nov. 24.

It is the perfect time for players who are still holding out on getting the game and try it out before they decide whether to get it for the holidays or not.
