'Pokemon Go' Supereffective Week is Live and Here's a Complete Guide; 'Harry Potter: Wizards Unite' Also Gets an Update from Niantic

The Pokemon Go Supereffective Week is now live, which started on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and will run until next Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 1 P.M. PST--and here is a complete guide of everything you should know, including tasks and rewards you can get.

Supereffective Week Bonuses

Among the rewards players can get during this Pokemon Go event is a guaranteed Charged TM that they can get from three-star Raids, 2x Stardust if they win Trainer Battles, and an increased number of Revive and Potion from PokeStops.

Trainers can also get more chances of getting the Shiny Tentacool and Tentacruel in the wild, which are making their debut on Pokemon Go.

The Supereffective Research Task

During the week, the Supereffective research task will also take place, where players from around the world can acquire double Stardust, as well as get more chances of spawning Pokemon that might be effective in the battle against the Team GO Rocket.

That said, if you're serious about battling the Team GO Rocket in the following weeks, then now is the time to start forming your team, but it is unclear whether the event will affect the chances of spawning other types of Pokemon.

Meanwhile, Polygon noted that there had been reports of higher spawns of Gastly, Machop, Murkrow, Torchic, Swinub, Rhyhorn, Teddiursa, Shroomish, and Tentacool.

According to Eurogamer, the Supereffective research tasks will be available at the PokeStops and will be replacing the current list of Research Tasks available.

There's a single task in the list:

  • Use a super-effective charged attack in a gym battle.

Since there's only one task at hand, fans can expect only one reward for this week--but it's also the easiest way to get a Tentacool, as this Pokemon will be the reward once you have completed it.

Nonetheless, Tentacool and Tentacruel can also be spawned in the field, so regardless of how you want to play Pokemon Go this week, you'll have a good chance of getting this rare Pokemon, and completing your Pokedex.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Update

On other news, another Niantic augmented reality game--Harry Potter: Wizards Unite--has also acquired an update from the developer, enabling Potterheads to find random gifts on important locations on their map, including greenhouses, inns, and fortresses.

Players can get the gifts once they accomplish certain activities in these key locations, and then send the reward to their friends through the Ministry ID page or the app's friend list.

Hoarders can store a maximum of 100 gifts, and open ten at once per day.
