Niantic and Pokemon Go have several events in line for fans around the world, starting with their November Community Day happening this Saturday, Nov. 16, from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M., where players can get a chance to capture rare Pokemon, plus a special event-exclusive move.
Just like with previous Pokemon Go Community Days, this event will only run for three hours and features one special Pokemon and bonuses that vary each month.
November Community Day Featured Pokemon
This November, players have a chance of snagging a Chimchar--a Fire-type Pokemon and one of the starters for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
During Community Day, the featured Pokemon will spawn more often in the wild than usual, which means players around the world have more chances of getting their own Chimchar during Community Day.
Additionally, GameSpot has also reported that players can find a Shiny Chimchar throughout the Community Day event, but that it would be more difficult as the Pokemon is a rare one, and you'll have to be more patient and likely roam around more.
Exclusive Move and More!
Besides being a rare Pokemon, the Shiny Chimchar will also have an exclusive move known as Blast Burn that can be learned up to two hours after the Community Day ends, plus its evolved forms will also spawn more likely than before--including the Monferno and Infernape.
Once you capture a Chimchar, make sure to check its CP and have it appraised as it could turn out to be a 100% IV Chimchar.
According to Future Game Releases, a level 30 Chimchar have a perfect CP of 820, while a Weather-Boosted level 35 should have a CP of 889.
They also have a complete list of Chimchars and their CPs that are 100% IV Chimchar.
If you aren't that much fond of the featured Pokemon, you can also take advantage of Community Day's other benefits, including a ¼ egg hatch distance as well as three-hour lures.
The Wayfarer Program
The November Community Day is not the only exciting thing from Pokemon Go lately, as Niantic has launched the Wayfarer program for players around the world, which means some players can suggest a location for PokeStops or gyms.
According to a report by Forbes, Pokemon Go players that are level 40 and up are eligible for suggesting these locations.
The requirement is believed to have been put in place to avoid millions of players from flooding Niantic's inbox, and that those who have reached this particular level are the more dedicated and knowledgeable gamers in the area.
